Johnson Shorthorns, located in Central Illinois, is owned by Phil and Nancy Johnson, their daughter Caitlin and son James (Rob).

Phil, a graduate of Lake Land Junior College and Illinois State University, is a high school agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. Phil is a recognized "Builder of the Breed" and has raised Shorthorns since he was a fourth grader student in 4-H.

Nancy, also a graduate of Illinois State University along with St. John's School of Nursing, is a surgical nurse. Nancy grew up in Naperville, IL, a suburb of Chicago, but she has ties to her grandfather's cattle farm in Seiverville, TN.

Caitlin attends Illinois State University where she is majoring in Animal Science. Caitlin is a past Illinois Shorthorn Association Lassie Queen and was active in showing the family's cattle.

Rob is in Junior High and is very active in showing the family cattle. Rob enjoys livestock judging and being involved in the Junior Shorthorn Association and it's activities.

The JS prefix is synonymous with many champions and All-Americans at the State and National levels. Most of the cattle are marketed through private treaty and consignment sales. The JS show cattle can always be seen at the Shorthorn Junior Nationals, North American, various state fairs, and occasionally at the National Western.

Visitors are always welcome. The farm lies on the south side of Interstate 72 between the towns of Illiopolis and Niantic.

Thank you for visiting!
